Trends That Will Move Food and Beverages Forward This Year
According to fooddive.com, healthy options and technological advancement will be the way of the future. Food and beverage companies are putting a higher focus on health and immunity-boosting properties for their products. Plant-based meat products also saw a 129% boost in sales between the first nine months of 2019 to 2020; the number of vegan consumers is growing as well as consumers who want to eat both meat and plant-based protein options. As consumers cooked more at home last year, there was more demand for global spices and flavors. Consumers want to know more about where their food comes from, so experts believe new barcode technologies will help food brands offer complete transparency to customers.
What can you do to help advertise local food and beverage brands that offer health and immune benefits? How can you help spread the word for food brands that offer easy to prepare global flavors?
Fast-Food Industry Adapting to Shifting Consumer Preferences
After months of adjusting to the ripple effect caused by the pandemic, many of the world’s top fast-food chains have recovered from their lows. Leading fast-food chain restaurants are altering their future strategy, opting for more drive-through, delivery, and carryout options as they shift away from dine-in options.
Yum CEO, David Gibbs, emphasized their focus on expanding these options, “But the other part of the story is curbside carryout. You’re seeing that not just in the restaurant industry, but in retail. It’s great because of the drive-through constraints are at their peak. No matter how great you are at drive-through, you can still fit only X amount of cars in a single line”. Yum is among one of the industry leaders that is adapting to the permanent changes in consumer behavior in the fast-food industry.
How can you help fast-food chains inform consumers of their expanded drive-through, carryout, and delivery options?
