According to, skincare is replacing makeup in women’s daily routines. 45% of surveyed women said they use a daily skincare routine. Only 27% of surveyed women said they use makeup every day, down by 24% from 2020. While only 16% of respondents say wearing makeup is very important to them, 40% say skincare is very important.

Women of all ages say that skincare is important to them making all demographics a good fit for skincare lines. 45% of women who exercise several times a week say they have a daily or weekly skincare routine.

Home improvement stores looking to increase foot traffic could partner with local charities to host dog adoption events! St. Charles Do it Best Hardware finds joy in putting on the events and sees lots of families in the store.

“We promote pet adoption events on social media, and we put a banner out front of our store. We get 200-300 people for the events,” said Dave Nestor, general manager of St. Charles Do it Best Hardware.

During the event, a humane society spokesperson talks about the adoption process, hands out applications, and interviews potential pet parents.

Gen Z drinkers have gravitated towards an unusual choice considering their age. Red wine is becoming a new favorite for younger drinkers. According to the 2022 Consumer Trend Report from Drizly, Gen Z is predicted to be buying more red wine this year. Red wine overtook tequila and hard seltzers for this group of drinkers. 38% of surveyed Gen Z-ers said they plan to buy red wine more than other popular types of alcohol. Gen Z surprisingly has more interest in red wine than those in the Millennial and Gen X age groups. It may be worth targeting younger drinkers for red wine purchases.
